Thanks to the Kimberley Process (KP), 99.8 percent of all diamonds in the global supply chain today come from a conflict-free source. The World Diamond Council (WDC), the diamond industry’s voice in this discussion, now seeks to expand the KP’s scope. WDC Acting President Stephane Fischler identifies key issues facing the KP and outlines the industry’s role in keeping conflict diamonds out of the marketplace.
