A special Diamond Jubilee Faberge egg, worth an estimated $157,000 (£100,000), is the top prize in London’s Big Egg Hunt, which commenced on February 21.
The unique rose gold egg, which was unveiled by actress Emilia Fox at the legendary jeweller’s central London boutique, is embellished with 60 gemstones, one for each year of the Queen’s reign. The gemstones include diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.
The Big Egg Hunt organisers hope that the Faberge egg will draw more participants to the charity event. There are 200 other eggs to find around London which will then allow the finders to enter the competition for the main award. It will raise funds for Elephant Family and Action For Children.
Each Big Egg Hunt egg has a
unique keyword at its location. Participants only need to text this word to 80001 to enter. Each egg is worth one entry. Text entries are open from February 21 until April 3. The winner will be chosen at random.
