UK-based high-end jeweller Garrard recently opened its first boutique in Shanghai in a bid to capture vast opportunities in the Chinese market, according to a report.

The boutique is located at the Yifeng Galleria of the Bund in Shanghai, Shanghai Daily reported.

Founded in 1735, Garrard is known for its exceptional designs and close relationship with the British Royal Family.

According to Sara Prentice, creative director of Garrard, the brand is banking on its long history and design capability to adapt to any challenge it might face in the new market.

“Garrard has been serving the royal families and dignitaries from around the world for many years, so we are well-versed in understanding different desires and tastes. Part of the bespoke service that we offer is all about understanding and tailoring the design for individual client, regardless of where they are from,” Prentice was quoted as saying in the report.
